Asphalt 9: Legends - Best Action Car Racing Game

Asphalt 9: Legends is a 2018 racing video game developed by Gameloft Barcelona and published by Gameloft. Released on July 25, 2018, it is the ninth main installment in the Asphalt series. There are several new and improved features compared to the previous shot, such as a prestigious selection of cars, a new control scheme including an autopilot mode called Touch Drive and racing mode, and the reintroduced Asphalt 6: Adrenaline. The graphics are considered to be significantly improved compared to its predecessor Asphalt 8: Airborne from 2013.

The gameplay in Asphalt 9 is similar to other Asphalt games with clear differences in graphics and design. There are 48 cars in the softstart game, but the world edition introduces four new cars, resulting in 52 cars.[1] [2] [3] [4]

As of the May 2022 update, there are currently 167 cars. Like its predecessors, each car belongs to a class that is increasingly characterized by higher performance and rarity: D, C, B, A and S. The player starts with a car from the lowest level Class (Class D), Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X All Cars in the game now require "Picture" or "Key" to unlock and then "Star" with "Picture", each with 3 to 6 stars. With each new star, the productivity of the car increases (with less fuel in the tank). Each car can also be customized with the new car edit feature.

When unlocking the car, players can choose from several official colors. After the car is started at least once, the player can create a custom color to paint the body, wheels and calipers for most models. Some models also allow carbon parts on the hood, trunk and fenders. Some cars can also be converted (can be changed from a closed roof to an open roof during gameplay), such as the BMW Z4 LCI E89, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, and McLaren 570S Spider. Some cars like the Mercedes-AMG GTS were introduced in the Summer 2019 update and can be equipped with special tires, wheels and body modifications. Also new to the series are "Clubs" where up to 20 players can collect "Reputation Points" together to earn rewards. The more reputation points a club earns, the better the prizes, from credits to car raffles.

The game also features "Nitro Shockwave" returning from Asphalt 6: Adrenaline and Asphalt 7: Heat. If the player has full nitro band and touches the nitro button twice, a purple pulse will be emitted from the car as the car's speed increases. Asphalt 9's mobile platform features three control schemes: Tilt to Steer, Tap to Steer, and the all-new Touch Drive, where players choose a route and cascade by swiping left and right. Touch Drive is designed for beginners and regular players. On Windows 10 devices, Touch Drive and manual controls can be used with the keyboard; or with tilt control if the device has a touchscreen and accelerometer.

The game has three game modes: Career, Multiplayer, Events and Special Events (including Grand Prix). In career mode, players take part in an extensive single-player campaign, consisting of five chapters, each containing several series of races focused on a particular class or car manufacturer. In multiplayer, players compete against other online players in real time. Events let players participate in daily or weekly competitions to beat other players' time or win other items.

There were also "Special Events" which were introduced at the Bugatti Chiron Special Event in December 2018 and have continued since the launch of the "Drive Syndicate" event in July 2019, and recently another Special Event scheduled for 31 July 2020 starting with the SSC Tuatara. Following the Godly Beasts update, a new type of special event called Grand Prix was launched, starting with the Techrules AT96 Track Edition Grand Prix. Players compete with other players for prizes including the key to the featured Grand Prix car. Once players receive the key, they can immediately unlock the car. This is the only way in the game to unlock a car without an image.

The Drive Syndicate event has received a lot of criticism for its high gameplay requirements and paid walls (which require players to spend real money to continue playing). The first, third, and fourth Drive Syndicate events are the most difficult and expensive events due to the paid wall, which is almost impossible to avoid unless the player has competed in the previous event. As such, the Drive Syndicate event is one of the most hated events in the entire game, with the least hated being the second because there are no paid walls and it just takes a lot of time to play.

There are 4 types of races in Asphalt 9. The 'Classic' racing mode from the previous game is back with new races, 'Time Attack', 'Hunted' and 'Slipstream'. In Time Attack, players must cross the finish line in a limited time. In Hunted, players must escape the police chase to chase cars without being caught or losing time. The player must also avoid damaging his car otherwise he will be arrested immediately. In "Slipstream", similar to classic racing, cars leave the slipstream line and when they cross it, they charge up nitro very quickly.
